So at the minute, Ive been spending time brainstorming on what medium to complete this project in. I’ve mostly been considering either Kinetic type or some form of illustration. After talking with Padriac today, I’m seriously considering the idea of creating an illustration for a verse of the poem, but recording the process of its creation, then video editing that into my final product. This would allow me to fulfill the my illustration interest, while also meeting the motion requirement from the craft village.
The only decision now is whether to accomplish this digitally or with pencil and paper. The downside to doing it by hand is:
- Easy to make mistakes
- Setting up the required according equipment
- The no doubt changing light levels as I work
- Space requirements
Where as, If I do this digitally on Photoshop for example, I can use a program to capture a screen recording. I have experience working with a drawing tablet, and it is something I also enjoy.
Here’s an example of a speed painting.
However, Since I’m leaning towards creating something Digitally, this would be a more accurate representation of what I’m thinking. This video shows creating the line work and drawing in Photoshop, then moving on to colouring it.
